Using TofuLove

TofuLove is a private tool for sharing recipes, planning meals and managing shopping lists. It is currently free to use and requires an approved account. Registration and uninterrupted availability are not guaranteed.

Account and household

Use your own email address and keep your account secure. Household members can view and change shared recipes, plans and lists. Share invitations only with people who should have access to that content. Private Tofi conversations are visible only to the relevant account.

Your content

You remain responsible for content you upload or enter. Only upload material you may use and share with your household. You allow TofuLove to store, process and show that content to authorized household members as needed to provide the service. Do not submit unlawful content or misuse the service.

TofuLove Discover

Discover is a public area where invited creators publish videos, photo galleries and articles with recipes, and signed-in users can read, save and cook them. It is separate from your household. In addition to these terms, the community guidelines apply.

Published posts and creator profiles can also be viewed through web links without signing in, unless they are adults-only.

Age limits

Discover is for ages 13 and up. On iOS we use the age range Apple provides through Declared Age Range; we receive only the age group, not a date of birth. Under 13, Discover is blocked. From 13 to 17 you can read Discover and interact with posts but do not see posts marked 18+. Creators must be at least 18. Without an age declaration we treat you like a minor.

Creator posts

You grant TofuLove a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to store, process, resize or convert, publicly display, play and distribute the contents of your published posts (photos, videos, captions, text, recipes) within TofuLove. This includes copies other users saved as a recipe in their cookbook. The right serves only to operate TofuLove. You keep the rights to your content.

If you delete a post or your account, we remove the post. The right then ends, except for recipe copies that others have already saved in their cookbook (without your photos and videos).

You confirm that you hold the necessary rights to everything in your posts, including music and sound, that they do not infringe anyone’s rights and that they follow the community guidelines. You indemnify TofuLove against justified third-party claims arising from a breach of this confirmation, as far as the law allows.

Review, recommendations and moderation

A person reviews every post before it appears, and every change to a published post before it becomes visible. We do not use automated moderation at the moment. Creator profile edits apply immediately and are reviewed afterwards.

The “For you” feed is a recommendation. It depends on the interests (hashtags) you chose, the creators you follow, how recent a post is and how popular it is: how often it is viewed, saved, planned or cooked relative to its views. We also mix creators and post types and leave out what you hid or blocked. The “Following” feed is chronological and unranked. You can leave “For you” at any time and use “Following” or search instead.

Reports and decisions

You can report content in the app or without an account using the notice form. We confirm receipt by email, assess it diligently, promptly and objectively and tell you the outcome. Reports must be made in good faith; abusive reports can have consequences.

If we decline or remove a post, hide it from minors, or restrict or suspend an account, the affected creator receives a statement of reasons with the facts, the rule or legal ground and whether the decision was automated. They can object by replying to that email.

Suspension and account deletion

If you break the guidelines, we may remove posts and restrict or suspend your account. If you delete your account, your Discover profile, posts including photos and videos, likes, saved posts, follow relationships and blocks are deleted. Reports and statements of reasons are kept without a link to your account for as long as the law requires. Recipe copies in other people’s cookbooks stay there.

Tofi and external connections

Tofi can make mistakes. Check recipes, ingredients, allergens, nutrition details and proposed changes yourself before relying on them. The optional ChatGPT connection can read and change shared household data after you grant access; you can revoke it in settings. Revocation does not undo changes already made.

Availability and changes

We may maintain TofuLove, change its features or discontinue the service. We will inform affected users appropriately about material changes to these terms. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
